Whats on this month?
Its a hectic month with one thing and another.
A special birthday...
Its a milestone birthday for my sister this month, so I travelled to Sydney and celebrated. It was a quick down and back for the weekend, but was so nice to take a break and get down there. It actually is my first trip to Sydney since the end of 2019 - basically sinice Covid started to show itself to the rest of the world. We had a couple of nice walks out and about with a view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge as a backdrop from the trek aong the harbour edge at Cromorne on the Saturday afternoon. It was so nice to spend a bit of time with family.

The end of the month is always chaotic, but seemed even more so this year.
Everyone seems to be in Europe.
For some reason half of Australia seems to be in, on the way to, or on the way back from Europe including my partner and number on chearleader who is away for the whole month on a combination work / holiday trip. Its quiet without her and I am eager to have her back here.
PD and Dementia Research.
PD CogniCare has begun. I have come to understand the the wheels move slowly in Uni research. So "Watch this space" becomes Watch this space periodically.
Becoming an Aussie.
As mentioned in the previous post the Australian government is changing the rules for the better to make it simpler to apply for citizenship. From 1 July 2023, kiwis who have lived in NZ for 4 years or more will no longer have to apply for and gain permanent residency first - which was the expensive and time consuming part. I will make sure i have my ducks in a row for 1 July application.
More help with Parkinson's awareness and advocacy.
YOPD catch up this month was an interesting one.
Walking.
On going through rain, and shine. Still haven't missed a day. #committed.
Medication/ Health.
Changes to the schedule this month for simplification - I have moved my main tablets to the morning instead of the evening so will be simpler to carry just the one levadopa for early evening than a a whole bunch of tablets. The majority now after walking, with the last one being the B1.
After getting some info on high dose b1 I have been taking 100mg sublingual daily. discusiions on line that I have found indicate that the lead in time to notice effect can be six weeks or so. It tastes pretty ordinary to be honste but I am gving it a try.
Still need to investigate the Voice training options for Parkinson's as I sense I am getting softer spoken. Also need to look into some exercises for my hands - I feel that typing is going to be more challenging going forward if I don't start to address that soon.
Pilates.
Pilates is still on Wednesday evenings with a new physio taking the class - Sing, a Canadian from Vancouver. Seems like a good one so far. I am definitely able to balance better and as mentioned now have my own balance board to practice on at home I can manage that for extended times.
PFU Boxing and more.
Each week there is something new for the warmup. Good to see some of the old regulars reappearing too.
Social Outings.
Lots on the calendar, regular "Thirst-day" drinks with the lads are always good. We may have settled on a new regular spot - we found that the Fourth Money has a nice fire pit out the back, so that might be our pick.
Work.
Head down and focus on delivery with more work coming on stream from sometimes unexpected places. Still trying to catch up and complete some existing projects. Many new projects in the pipeline and continuing to clean up existing projects.
Land Sailing.
The track update is not great news - now the home track will be based at Woodgate near Bundaberg.
Otherwise for me its still so far so good.
Same Same.
And that is all for just now - keep a lookout for the next post and thanks for tagging along!
